Fraud/Risk Idol of the Year

September 18 2016

The clock is ticking – there’s just a few days to go until the close of nominations for the first-ever iGaming Idol! But you’re still in time! So… could you be our Fraud/Risk Idol? Read on to find out.

We all know the risks out there in the online world – which is exactly why the industry needs fantastic people to combat them.

The person we’re looking for will be working in a role related to fraud prevention, risk monitoring, revenue protection or similar. And they must absolutely excel at it! If you think you, a friend or a colleague could fit the bill, then it’s time to sign up – and application are open now.

The Judges

Three fantastic risk/fraud experts will be helping us to pick the winner for this category – Ben Jordan, European Business Director for Aristotle, Louisa Curran, Fraud Prevention Manager for Tipico, and Krzysztof Rusajczyk, Strategy Project Manager for Unibet. We asked them for their thoughts on the type of person that should ultimately walk away with the award.

“I’d like to meet people who are aware of all the fraud and risk challenges out there, and who have fresh ideas for how to combat online fraud within the iGaming space,” says Krzysztof. “I’d love to learn something from all the candidates.”

For Louisa, the winning idol will need to be passionate about their job with a natural ability for what they do and ambition to grow into the next level. “Anyone with an achievement to be proud of, whether it’s implementing a new process or improvement, or reaching a personal goal, should apply,” she says.

Whoever the person and whatever their role, Ben believes iGaming Idol will showcase the varied talent that Malta has as a hub for industry. “I look forward to hearing from the finalists about what they do to actively combat fraud and adapt quickly to risk,” he says. “As well as to how they see the fraud landscape changing in the coming years.”

As a quick tip to those signing up, Krzysztof recommends: being yourself, helping yourself and expressing yourself – whether that’s your knowledge, experience, ideas or visions. “Don’t try to guess what the judges want to hear from you. Tell us what you want to say.”

Louisa agrees. “Bring your A Game, have fun and enjoy the overall experience,” she adds.
